Owen brings political and communications experience in city government and the private sector to his manager role at the agency. In his position, Owen serves as the Strategic Communications Lead for VTA’s Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Silicon Valley Phase II Extension project, currently the second-largest infrastructure project in the United States, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of several key clients on the waterfront of the San Francisco Bay.
Owen has played an instrumental role in social media and outreach operations for several different client teams, most notably the San Francisco Bar Pilots. His success with the Bar Pilots’ social media channels has resulted in a variety of profile stories in print journalism and across social media. Owen has also played a key role in some of the firm’s high-profile projects across development, education, and crisis communications.
Owen’s previous experience includes an internship at Storefront Political Media, primarily conducting political research and assisting in the writing of a variety of mail pieces. He also held prior roles as a Global Fellow for a green education company in Kolkata, India, and Mayoral Intern for the City of San José in the Office of Mayor Sam Liccardo.
A Bay Area native, Owen earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations and a minor in Italian from Santa Clara University. During his time at SCU, Owen captained the club rugby team and was a member of Phi Sigma Iota, the nation’s highest honor society for foreign language. He now serves as Assistant Coach for the team and is also a member of the Commonwealth Club World Affairs of California.
