Jessica Berg is a Senior Vice President and Partner at Bodewell Group (formerly Southwest Strategies Group), where she leads the firm’s Bay Area public affairs practice and helps shape its strategic direction statewide and across the West. With nearly three decades of experience at the intersection of politics, media, and public policy, Jessica is widely regarded as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex, high-stakes public affairs challenges.
Throughout her career, Jessica has guided major public and private sector initiatives across California and other western states. She specializes in designing and executing integrated public affairs strategies that align media relations, government affairs, community engagement, and coalition-building to achieve durable outcomes. Her work spans land use and development, labor relations, reputation management, and crisis communications—often in politically sensitive and highly visible environments.
Beyond individual projects, she is known for her ability to anticipate risk, shape narratives, and build long-term credibility with community leaders, elected officials, labor partners, and the press. In addition, Jessica takes pride in managing and mentoring cross-office teams of senior and emerging professionals.
In 1999, Jessica co-founded BergDavis Public Affairs, where she spent more than twenty-five years building a respected consulting firm recognized for its strategic rigor, political acumen, and results-driven approach to public affairs. The firm was acquired by Bodewell Group in 2024, reflecting the strength of its reputation and the lasting value of its work.
Deeply committed to civic life in the Bay Area, Jessica has served on numerous boards and advisory committees, including the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, the Housing Action Coalition, Bay Area Jewish Action, and the Oakland Boys & Girls Club, and the Bay Area Council. She holds a degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
