Elizabeth A. Hansen is a Strategic Advisor and Partner at Bodewell Group (formerly Southwest Strategies Group). Elizabeth has more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning and community, government and media outreach program implementation.
At the agency, Elizabeth supports clients navigating the entitlement and approval processes, overseeing public affairs programs related to land use, transportation and infrastructure. She has represented a diverse range of clients across the firm’s portfolio including Tri Pointe Homes, Falck Mobile Health, SDG&E, Starbucks, SANDAG, Caltrans, Poseidon Water and the City of Carlsbad. A seasoned project manager, Elizabeth also leads numerous project teams for clients across the state, supervising program implementation to ensure results. She has experience working with various public agencies including the cities of San Diego, Chula Vista and Carlsbad, as well as the County of San Diego and its Local Agency Formation Commission, among others.
Elizabeth is a member of Bodewell’s Executive Committee and served as Southwest Strategies President from 2020 to 2025. Prior to her time with the agency, Elizabeth was a staff writer for Arizona’s leading sports magazine and a photojournalist for San Diego Magazine. In 2018, she was appointed by then Mayor Kevin Faulconer to the City of San Diego’s Board of Library Commissioners, named one of San Diego’s Most Influential Women by The Daily Transcript and received the Deborah Baker Public Relations Professional of the Year Award from the San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
Elizabeth is a Sports San Diego Life Committee member and previously served on the Scripps Ranch Community Planning Group and Library Foundation SD Board of Trustees. She holds a BA from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
