Industry: Energy
Strategic Engagement for Energy Infrastructure
and the Energy Transition
The United States is undergoing a fundamental transformation in how energy is generated, delivered and managed. As demand accelerates—from transmission and storage to wildfire risk, growing data center needs, and increasingly complex rate structures and policies—clear communication and sustained engagement are essential.
Bodewell Group works across the energy ecosystem, partnering with utilities, public agencies, developers and private-sector energy companies to support the systems and decisions shaping a safe, reliable and evolving grid.

Siting and Permitting
Outreach, Advocacy and Public Affairs for Energy Infrastructure Approvals
Major energy infrastructure projects, including transmission lines, substations, storage facilities and other large-scale investments, require extensive public outreach to support siting, permitting and approvals. These projects often span multiple jurisdictions and involve long timelines, diverse stakeholders and heightened community interest.
Bodewell leads phased engagement strategies that help communities understand proposed infrastructure, provide meaningful input and remain engaged throughout the development process. Our experience includes supporting transmission and storage projects through route and location identification, permitting and approvals, while coordinating with elected officials, regulatory agencies and community leaders to help projects move forward.

Renewable Energy, Grid Modernization and Energy Technology
Supporting a Transforming Energy System
Historic investments across renewable generation, energy storage, grid modernization and energy technologies are reshaping how energy systems operate and scale. These shifts are transforming not only how energy is produced, but how it is distributed, managed and consumed across increasingly interconnected markets.
Bodewell works across the renewable energy ecosystem, supporting companies delivering solar technologies, storage systems, grid solutions and energy software, as well as the developers, EPCs and O&Ms responsible for deploying, operating and maintaining these systems. Our experience spans the full value chain, from components and systems to organizations supporting large-scale energy users such as data centers and commercial and industrial facilities.
By pairing deep category understanding with strategic storytelling, Bodewell helps renewable energy and energy technology companies translate complex innovations into messages that decision-makers understand and trust. Through integrated B2B PR, trade media relations, digital lead generation and engagement programs, we support market positioning, thought leadership and product adoption in a rapidly evolving and competitive energy landscape.

Grid Reliability and Emergency Response Preparedness
Communicating During Disruption and Uncertainty
Grid reliability and emergency response efforts demand timely, accessible communication to keep communities informed and prepared. Bodewell supports utilities and public agencies through community outreach, public education and on-the-ground engagement during emergency events, service disruptions and grid reliability challenges.
A core component of this work is the large-scale planning and operation of Community Resource Centers (CRCs) during Public Safety Power Shutoff and adverse weather events. Bodewell designs and manages custom CRC programs that provide recruitment, training and management of on-call field teams on behalf of utility clients. Programs are designed to staff hundreds of sites, often within days, or even hours, of notification. These teams are built to reflect the communities they serve, with multilingual capabilities, comprehensive community engagement and conflict resolution training, and the ability to mobilize quickly across wide service territories.
Our work is guided by strategic insight and operational experience in emergency preparedness and public safety, helping clients navigate complex, high-pressure situations with clarity, confidence and a strong commitment to community well-being.

Rates, Policy and Public Education
Helping Communities Understand Energy Decisions
Energy policy, rate-related decisions and safety initiatives can have significant impacts on households, businesses and regional economies. Bodewell supports public education and engagement efforts that help communities understand the context, processes and implications of rate changes, planning and safety-related programs, including wildfire education and emergency preparedness campaigns.
This work includes coalition building, public education campaigns and stakeholder engagement designed to foster informed participation and constructive dialogue. Across these efforts, Bodewell emphasizes clear, consistent communication that helps communities understand how energy decisions affect reliability, affordability and public safety.
